I’ve known Don Bradshaw for 25 years so have dealt with Black Arrow for a long time and what I find is that the hub of Black Arrow from a broker perspective is they are very commercial.

Black Arrow really dig into the nature of the business and get granular about potential. Of course bank balance and financials are important but they want to understand about the people running the business.

I respect Black Arrow because I think they do have an exceptionally strong commercial understanding.

They live and breathe the client and get underneath the bonnet. And separate from that they don’t generalise in a sector. Like right now for example, you might have an issue with hotels being closed but they won’t stay clear of that. If they see good directors, good owners, and a strong business model they will show support and understand that every now and again every business gets a knock.

I respect Black Arrow because I think they do have an exceptionally strong commercial understanding. There’s an awful lot of experience in that team. They’ve been through the cycle and that means they can think outside the square. There’s integrity there and the other thing is that they value long term relationships. When they can see that, they will provide flexibility. It’s a much more holistic approach.
